The Desert Christian Academy Conquerors will face off against the Temecula Prep Patriots at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Desert Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they’ve averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
Last Friday, Desert Christian Academy got the win against San Jacinto Leadership Academy by a conclusive 8-2. The Conquerors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six runs or more this season.
Westin Abarrate was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He is becoming a predictor of Desert Christian Academy’s success: when he posts at least eight strikeouts the team is undefeated (and 2-6 when he doesn’t). Abarrate was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Desert Christian Academy let Fabian Cortezand Judah Garrison run wild. Cortez went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one stolen base, while Garrison went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That’s the most RBI Cortez has posted since back in February.
Meanwhile, Temecula Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 11-3 to San Jacinto Valley Academy.
Temecula Prep saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nikolaz Gonzalez, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Desert Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they’ve won three of their last four games. That’s provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Temecula Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Desert Christian Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.4 strikeouts per game. However, it’s not like Temecula Prep struggles in that department as they’ve been averaging an even more impressive 7.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Desert Christian Academy came up short against Temecula Prep in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, falling 7-2. Will the Conquerors have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
