Patriots
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Temecula Prep). They blew past the San Jacinto Leadership Academy Lions 30-5 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won nine contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
Jasmine Burkey was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn’t tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, Samiyah Antoine was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. That’s the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025. Estella Scola was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and four runs.
Temecula Prep hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 3-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Temecula Prep is on a roll lately: they’ve won three of their last four games. That’s provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for San Jacinto Leadership Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.
Temecula Prep will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lions: the pair’s next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
