TPS Swim Team – One and Done

Temecula Prep has a swim team! The one swimmer, Raelynne Davis, is nothing short of phenomenal.  She competed independently throughout the season, showing up as a party of one for TPrep.  In early May, Raelynne qualified for CIF semi-finals in two (2) events:

200Free:    2:24.81
500Free:    6:29.59
She made it to the next round of CIF Finals for 500 free.  She shaved 14.58 off her time, finishing with a time of 6.15.01. Her mom, who is also her TPrep coach, has supported her throughout her swimming career. When asked about Davis’ path to achieve her success, Rachel Davis (mom) explained Raelynne experienced several health issues early in life which toughened her resolve to be the best.  Mom said, “She continued pursuing the sport she loves and fought her way back to the pool.”
Her intrinsic motivation pushed her to train year round with 5-6 practices a week for two (2) hours a day.  Raelynne, in total, has been swimming for 10 years. Raelynne, a junior, has qualified every year for CIF Finals. Rachel is so impressed with her hard work stating, “To our surprise [after dealing with health issues], she worked harder than ever, pushing through every challenge in front of her, and not only qualified for CIF once again, but finaled again as well. Her determination, resilience, dedication, and heart are beyond inspiring. Finals this year represented so much more than a race result—it was a testament to her strength, perseverance, and refusal to give up despite everything she has endured.”

As Raelynne enters her senior year, the TPS community will be cheering her on!
