Temecula Prep and Nuview Bridge are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but likely not for long. The Patriots will welcome the Knights at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Nuview Bridge will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Temecula Prep extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Patriots never let San Jacinto Leadership Academy get on the board and left with a 19-0 win. That 19-run margin sets a new team best for the Patriots this season.
Joshua Estrada made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn’t allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Estrada was also stellar in the batter’s box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Temecula Prep’s success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 8-9 when he doesn’t).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nikolaz Gonzalez, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for Temecula Prep: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 6-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Dylan Hanson, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Temecula Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 7-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Nuview Bridge won against Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School on Tuesday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Knights were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Mustangs. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Mustangs: they’ve now won eight in a row.
Joshy Rodriguez was incredible, firing off two home runs and six RBI while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Carson Lagor was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Nuview Bridge’s win bumped their record up to 12-10-1. As for Temecula Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.
Tuesday’s matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Temecula Prep has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .452. However, it’s not like Nuview Bridge struggles in that department as they’ve averaged .440. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Temecula Prep skirted past Nuview Bridge 7-5 in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We’ll have the answer soon enough.
