Temecula Prep had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They put the hurt on the Xavier Prep Saints with a sharp 12-3 victory. For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 24-2 win the Saints walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2020.

Jasmine Burkey
Jasmine Burkey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn’t tossed less than five strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter’s box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Ava Winkowski was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she’s now snagged at least one in each of the last eight games she’s played. Another player making a difference was Samiyah Antoine, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Temecula Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They are 12-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Temecula Prep’s victory bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Xavier Prep, they are on a 20-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-22.
As of now, neither Temecula Prep nor the Saints have any future games scheduled.
